🌼 Spring is emerging across the land 🌼

As we watch the white of the snowdrops and yellows of the daffodils return to the soil we can welcome the emergence of bluebells and listen to and watch birds nesting.

The March equinox is on Wednesday 20th and it is also World Storytelling Day, celebrating the ancient tradition of oral storytelling.

In this newsletter, we are sharing stories about our work and success over the last quarter and we welcome your stories of your time in nature over winter and into spring.

Environmental Perspectives Episode 2

Landowner and Planting Co-ordinator Joel

A quick word from the Landowner and Planting Co-ordinator 👨🏻‍🌾 Joel

As we draw into the last quarter of the 2023-2024 planting season, it is looking like we may fall short of our planting target that we set for ourselves back in the summer, with around 5,000 trees going in and the ‘beating-up’ (replanting of trees which failed) of 10% from previous years. It’s a necessary management technique part of our 50 years of service to ensure a healthy woodland for you to visit!

However I am pleased to report we have reached our subscriber targets with trees to spare. There are also still potential sites that may come through for planting in the coming weeks.

We have been presented with some tough challenges and we have pulled through successfully as a team. We have plenty of potential sites in the pipeline for the 2024-2025 planting season. With a lot more management skills and experience behind us it's shaping up to be a great season for 9Trees.

Our target next year is roughly 10,000 trees. We have streamlined our team and have been testing the new way of working with landowners ‘Branching Out’.

We have promising sites and partnerships spread across the UK and are now looking for landowners in the South West of England & Herefordshire.

We also want to expand into the South East so please do send me an email and I will call to discuss your needs.

🙌🏼 Thank you for reading our Newsletter 🙌🏼
