Kickstarter Job Opportunities

After all our efforts we are now in a position to take on four paid roles for 18-24 year olds through the Governments Kickstart Scheme. If you want to work in conservation and are not in education, employment or training speak to your work coach and apply through your local job centre, letting them know about a particular role or check out our Volunteering roles page!

What is the Kickstart Scheme?

The Kickstart scheme is a fantastic opportunity provided by the government to help young people aged 16 – 24 gain valuable experience by funding the relevant national minimum wage for 25 hours a week*. Aimed at young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment, the scheme allows businesses of all sizes to create new jobs and grow their businesses using government support.

*plus employers National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

  • Trainee Fundraising Officer

Could you inspire funders to support 9Trees’ vision to plant 9 trees per person per year? Could you help us to raise income from charitable trusts, grants and statutory funders? We need funding to help create a variety of roles and expand our advertising at events and on-line. Experience of income generation in other areas would be useful, but not essential. Flexibility and the ability to engage with a wide range of potential funding organisations to sell the 9Trees vision is the key.

  • Junior Regional Representative

We aim to establish broadleaf woodlands, funded by subscribers, in every county in the UK. To enable us to achieve this, we need 9Trees representatives in all areas of the country to seek out and engage with landowners who are interested in planting 500+ trees on their land to help combat the climate crisis. We are looking for people with good communication skills, a passion for selling our vision and a keen interest in improving the environment in their local area.

  • Junior Ambassador

At 9Trees we are a young community interest company looking to establish our name and reputation for the unique way in which we work with landowners, carefully select our woodland sites and the trees we plant, and how we commit to managing these on a long-term basis. Could you be an advocate for 9Trees within your organisation, business sector, community or local schools? Would you be happy to display our logo and champion our cause?

  • Junior Project & Social Media

From time to time we have short-term, one-off projects that we need to complete and we need people to manage these to ensure that they are completed properly. Such projects may include updating our website, reviewing our plans and policies, coordinating the delivery of materials to woodland sites, organising for 9Trees representation at specific events and developing ways of increasing our number of subscribers. Formal project management qualifications are not essential, but we need people with good organisational and communications skills who are willing to take the lead in managing these short-term projects.

These roles are a learning experience with training and on the job learning opportunities, we consider hiring people who are willing to make the most of this opportunity! Can you in 6 months create yourself and others a full-time position with @9TreesUK?

If you fall outside of the Kickstarter scheme but still want to help us out, our volunteering opportunities are open to everyone, please
